Introducing Kailen “Arubeast” Wouters! As soon as Kailen could walk, he was pushing around a strider and got on a bike for the first time when he was just three years old. The BMX racing bug bit him early. “My big cousin used to race, and my mom took me to see one of his races,” he remembers. Kailen says once he started racing BMX he couldn’t stop. “Both of my parents used to be athletes and it’s just in my blood to be so competitive.”

Kailen joined the J&R family in 2023 and says his favorite part of competing in BMX is the adrenaline thrill. “Oh, and I like winning! Love spending time with teammates and traveling,” he adds. With the thrill of BMX comes plenty of challenges. And Kailen says, “For me it’s getting on the podium in open classes. Racing the bigger kids is always a challenge.” Challenging himself has paid off and he says the accomplishment he is most proud of is, “Getting that W2 plate this year! Super proud of myself.”

The Arubeast’s favorite track to ride? “Derby city!! It’s just a fast track and I love it! The pro section of the track is also crazy,” he explains. His favorite rider is Connor Fields “I admire his fearless way of racing,” says Kailen. Looking ahead, he is most excited for the Punta Gorda race because, “It’s a new track for me and mostly because it’s in Florida and I get to see my teammates again!”

We look forward to seeing you up on the podium, Kailen! Best of luck from the whole J&R Family!

Fun Facts about Kailen:
